A hand strippable waterbased coating which provides protection to steel, aluminium and other metals as well as plastics during plating cycles and chemical milling operations.
Performs well in electroless nickel, bright nickel on steel, hard anodizing and sulphuric anodizing on aluminium, chemical milling of nickel on brass. And we have hard chrome platers using this product successfully.
Contains no silicone and has a flash rust inhibitor.
Contains no organic solvents.
Since it is waterbased, it will require some additional time to dry versus a solvent based maskant.
Application When applying MT-6000WB, it is critical to allow the maskant to dry throughly, especially the first coat. Given sufficient warmth and air circulation, it will normally air dry in about one hour. A warm oven not exceeding 54ºC (130 ºF) will aid in the drying process. Two coats are sufficient for most cycles and an overnight dry is preferable after the final coat. Multiple thin coats are better than heavy, thick coats. The product data sheet gives more information on application procedures. In order to be hand peelable, it is necessary to build up a sufficient thickness of the maskant onto the part.
It is sold in 5 litre containers or 208 litre containers.
